miriam ava wolodarski
I make performances, frequently.
I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University, a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Uppsala Universitet, and a banana in my left hand. My work integrates techniques ranging from circus to classical thater, from shadow puppetry to contact improvisation and butoh. It is deeply influenced by principles of Dharma Art as outlined by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and by physical disciplines derived from Jerzy Grotowski’s lineage of poor theater. I believe in performance as a contemplative practice for creator and observer.
I also nurse a deep-seated interest in (wound of ) language and have worked as a writer, translator, linguist and phonetician for Rosetta Stone and CTB McGraw Hill, among others.
I heartily welcome questions, suggestions, invitations to perform, collaborative proposals, requests, critiques, and offers of support. mwolodarski@gmail.com
